Roasted Pork Loin and Everything Bagel Potatoes

This pork tenderloin recipe was our very first recorded episode. That’s for a good reason too, this recipe is actually one of the best ways to introduce someone to a kitchen. It has minimal cutting involved, but the cutting that is there needs to be even. Which is an excellent way to practice. Even the oiling and seasoning are a great introduction to flavor profiles. Plus it’s one of the most adaptable recipes you can ever make, you can adjust it to your heart’s content.

What is You Can Cook?

You Can Cook! is a video series where we take Jam, who has never actually cooked anything before, and we put her in our kitchen and walk her through prep, cooking, and plating a full meal. While she is cooking away, Brandyn and Matt make inappropriate comments and make a bunch of jokes while they drink and watch. It really is a lot of fun. That being said, the You Can Cook! videos contain foul language. You have been warned. Follow along with us in these videos and you can gain some kitchen confidence yourself.

Why a pork tenderloin?

It’s about as simple as it gets. First, you start with a pre-seasoned pork loin from the grocery store, grab a few red potatoes, olive oil, and everything bagel seasoning. Then you cut the potatoes up and oil and season them. After that, you toss everything in the oven for about 30 minutes. Finally, we top the potatoes off with a bit of butter. That’s it. Seriously.

While all you need for the kitchen gear, you just need an oven, a knife, and a sheet pan make sure your knife is sharp. Even though a sharp knife is dangerous, you are far more likely to cut yourself on a dull knife.
