    Spicy Teriyaki Chicken Thighs Recipe

This Spicy Teriyaki Chicken is a quick marinading and cooking alternative to takeout. With just a couple of simple pantry ingredients, we will make this simple teriyaki chicken recipe explode with Asian flavors that will make you forget about ordering in again.

How to make Spicy Teriyaki Chicken

All of these ingredients are common and budget-friendly, making this recipe a great cheap way to feed the entire family. We first need to make the marinade. To do this combine the following into a bowl or gallon storage bag:

Place 4-6 Chicken Thighs, skins on, and bones removed.

Place the bowl or bag in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, 1 hour would be better.

In the meantime make a batch of our Teriyaki Sauce. How thin or thick the sauce ends up is dependent of what you are serving the teriyaki chicken with. I like to keep it thin for rice and I’ll mix 1 tbsp cornstarch and 2 tbsp water and add it to the sauce while it cooks for vegetables and noodles.

    Cooking the Teriyaki Chicken

To start cooking, bring the oven up to 400℉/200℃ and heat an oven-safe pan on high heat. Once the pan gets good and oil pour in enough of a high temp cooking oil (Peanut, corn, canola) to coat the bottom of the pan. Quickly place the chicken thighs in the pan skin side down. This will crisp the skin nicely giving a nice texture and flavor to the chicken.

Once the skin has crisped nicely flip the chicken skin side up and place it into the oven until the chicken is cooked through about 20-25 minutes.

Remove from the oven and pour the teriyaki sauce over top, slice and serve on a bed of Coconut Rice, vegetables, or noodles.

    Simple isn’t it?

That’s it, a Spicy Teriyaki Chicken Recipe to fix that takeout craving.

Preheat oven to 400℉/200℃. Heat a large frying pan or saute pan on high heat. Once the pan is hot pour in enough high-temperature oil (peanut, corn, canola) to coat the bottom of the pan. Place the chicken thighs in, skin side down. Once the skin is crispy, 1-2 minutes, flip skin side up and place into the oven. Bake until internal temperature is 165℉/75℃, about 20-25 minutes.

Once the chicken has finished cooking, pour in teriyaki sauce and turn to coat. Let it sit in the hot pan with the sauce for at least 5 minutes. Remove from the pan and slice the chicken thighs, place on top of rice, and pour remaining sauce over top. Enjoy.
